We are excited to welcome Sasha as our new Summer Project Specialist at Society of Work. We love getting to know new people so we sat down with Sasha to learn more about her and what she is excited to work on at SOW this summer.
What and where are you studying this year?
I am entering my senior year as a dual-enrollment student at Chattanooga State, although I suppose “Zoom University” is just as accurate. The majority of my current classes are general education requirements, but I plan to study something humanities or business based in college.
What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?
I spend a lot of my free time practicing flute and in non-COVID times, making music with other people. If I’m not playing music, I’m probably trying out new recipes that are healthier than they actually taste or reading a book; I’m currently reading one about the 100 Years War, which is surprisingly more interesting than it sounds. That aside, I am also on a quest for the perfect cup of coffee. I haven’t figured out whether this cup will be pour over found in my kitchen or if it’s actually in a coffee shop somewhere, but I will keep searching.
What projects will you be working on this summer at Society of Work?
My work this summer will revolve around improving member experience. The members of Society of Work have full plates as is, and hopefully my work can make their lives run a bit smoother and improve the quality of their time here. As they say, help us help you. I look forward to hearing feedback (positive and negative) that SOW members have!
What expertise are you bringing to this role?
I am most proud of my ability to problem solve. While I’m not Olivia Pope (To all my Scandal fans out there!), I have had a lot of experience in thinking outside the box to resolve various situations (within the constraints of the law, of course, unlike Pope). I am also good at listening and reflecting, and desire to learn more about everything and anything. While I am new to co-working, I plan to use these skills to make the most of my time here, and will hopefully leave SOW with a positive impact.
What excites you about working at Society of Work?
I am most excited about meeting new people and learning more about the varieties of work that go on in the space. After being quarantined for so long, being in an environment where people are working towards awesome things is a much appreciated change of pace.
Society of Work Members should ask me about___.
I am happy to talk about anything, but am more interested in hearing about what you are working on! If you see me in the office, I would love to talk to you about what sorts of projects are going on or anything overall. (Pictures of people’s pets are much appreciated).
Well nice to talk with you Sasha and we look forward to working with you this summer! 👋🏻
